I will keep it short and crisp! I didn't like the movie as much as I expected to like it.....purely judged it on the basis of other people's review before downloading it. But after watching the movie myself, my thoughts about it were:
1) Boring
2) Slow moving
3) Western Genre, could hardly make out the language specially when Jeff Bridges would be drunk and lastly
4) Bad ending, expected the 14 yr old girl would grow up to be a nice happy girl instead of arm-less sad and lonely woman.
Only a person who has been a big fan of Western movies might spot something good in it. Maybe Iv not watched many wild west setting movies hence not acquired the taste for it as yet. This movie has received very high ratings, and has been nominated for Oscar Awards as well...........(WHY? :s)
True Grit is a remake of 1969 John Wayne's "True Grit"...in which a 14 year old girl named Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld) hires a drunkard US Marshal named Rooster Cogburn to track down Tom Chaney who killed her father and was hiding in Indian territory. The young girl is determined to travel alongside the Marshal and embarks onto an adventure of a rare nature. The movie gets interesting half way through and I really admired Hailee Steinfeld's acting.
On the whole, its a good watchable movie but it won't land on my list of top movies.
