The movie in some weird way reminded me of Twilight Saga, where the whole story revolves around the vampire not being just the cold hearted creature, instead it has feelings and can become good friends to humans, love and protect them. If you are vampire movie fan, Let me In might be the movie that you were searching for, to spend an eerie, damp evening with. On second thoughts, the movie's striking resemblance with twilight is dealt with quiet nicely by emphasizing again and again in a realistic way that being a vampire is a curse and instead of vampires sparkling in sunlight, Let Me In, sticks to the original lore of vampires, that sunlight is fatal for them.

Surprisingly, this movie has received very high ratings and positive reviews....that makes me wonder about my own taste for horror flicks, because I certainly differ in my opinion. The movie is a remake of Sweedish movie Let the Right One In (2008). Its about a 12 year old boy, Owen,  struggling at school with a bunch of bullies and back at home with parents who are undergoing bitter divorce. Emotionally disturbed and utterly lonely Owen, makes friends with a mysterious newcomer, who lives right next door to him. The newcomer is a young girl, Abby, of his age and is as lonely as he is....and hence on this common ground they form deep friendship. It is later in the movie Owen realizes Abby has a wicked side, that comes as a shock to him but he still holds on to his friendship, trying to accept Abby for who she is.

For starters, the movie sure does have a heart touching story of two lonely and equally disturbed kids and their friendship...and has its share of scary scenes as well. One thing that I really liked about this movie was the underlying theme based on old well-known lore that a vampire can not enter a house unless they are invited in.

For me this movie was watchable material but not outstanding...At some points the story's pace goes really slow.

The trailer of the movie, however is fantastic :p ....damn these trailers! they trick you straight into the trap :)
