Animated movies have rarely impressed me and very few of them Iv really enjoyed watching like some of the recent ones Shrek Series, How to Train Your Dragon, Tangled, Despicable Me etc. Unfortunately, after watching Megamind I couldn't exactly make up my mind as to include it into the above list or not. The hype that was created about this movie among my friends circle and generally on the internet motivated me to give this movie a try. But like certain other movies, the hype was ALOT more than the movie actually deserved. :-/

Megamind is a satirical hit on superhero concept. If you cross the Incredibles and the recent Despicable Me, the resultant outcome would be more or less like Megamind in which the villain proves to be not such a bad guy after all and saves the day by defeating a new villain.

The movie starts out in a funny super-man sort of way, in which Megamind is sent as a baby to Earth by his parents in search of his destiny and along the journey he discovers another baby traveling to Earth as well, the Metroman. Since childhood the two of them have played rivals to each other Megamind being the bad and least successful villain, as none of his plans have EVER worked and Metroman the good, altruistic hero. The funny part starts when Megamind by mistake ends up defeating Metroman very early in the movie. And suddenly he is the boss of the Metrocity and has no idea what to do next. He gets bored of being alone and no good hero to fight him. Hence, he gets this brainwave, to create a hero for himself to fight with. And rest of the movie is all about how that plan of his AGAIN backfires on him :) and things go really wrong for him!

My problem with this movie, it wasn't very engaging and where I expected to laugh alot, I ended up mildly chuckling. I feel this movie could've been better.
